Samos,
the island of one of Greece's most famous philosophers
Pythagoras,today has a population of 35.000.
It is located in the Eastern Aegean, near the
Turkish coast and the ancient city of Effesos.
The trip from Athens to Samos by plane lasts for
50 min., while for those who enjoy travelling
by ship the journey lasts from 7 to 12 hours.
The island is full of bright green woods,
and it also has the highest mountains of the Aegean.
The famous Samian wine is also produced here.
It has many beautiful and clean beaches not only
in the most frequented places,
but there are also many secluded remote beaches
if you prefer your privacy.
